South Summit County Weekend Trail Report

South Summit County Weekend Trail Report:

This photo is of the Stevens Grove Trail in Oakley. Look at the ugly track that this fat bike tire has made. Weather is nice, and I know it’s tempting, but using the trails while they are muddy creates permanent damage that cannot be undone. 😱 Fat bikers, mountain bikers, and horse riders please stay off the trails until they are dry. Or consider donating to our organization in the form of a membership and your dollars will go towards fixing the trails after the damage has been done. Horse riders use the Yellow Pine Trail only please.

Here’s your weekend trail report:

<Oakley Trail & Seymour Canyon: mix of dry, mud, and snow at higher elevations and in the trees.

<Oakley Trail Park: mix of dry and mud, traces of snow in the trees. All riders stay off until totally dry please.

<Franson Lane Trail: mix of dry patches, mud patches, snow patches in the trees.

<Stevens Grove Trail: mix of dry and muddy patches.

<High Star Ranch Trail: frontside is dry but snow covered & muddy up high and on north exposure. Mtn bikers & fat bikers please avoid!

<Bench Creek Trail: mostly still snow covered with muddy sections.

<Lake View Trail at Rockport: mostly dry, some muddy & snowy patches.

<Beaver Creek Trail: mix of snow & mud, some dry patches.

<Yellow Pine Horseback Riding Trail: mostly snow & mud.

<Tuhaye Trail (county line trail): mix of dry patches and muddy patches. Mtn bikers and fat bikers stay off until dry.

<Rocky Top Trail (county line trail): this trail is dry at the moment except that last top section which is still snow covered with patches of mud. Horse riders and bikers please stay off until dry! 🙏🏻

Do the right thing and turn around when you notice you’re leaving a track like in this photo, or donate to our organization to help fix early and late season damage like this at: https://www.southsummittrails.org/donation-page/
