A New Trail Just Opened in the Kamas Valley!!
Phase 1 of the “Oakley Trail Park” is NOW OPEN!! Join us for our grand opening on September 21st at 6 PM at the base of the trail.
First off, we want to THANK EVERYONE who contributed their time, talents, and donation dollars to making this new trail opening a reality. We could not have done it without your support, or the support of Oakley City. THANK YOU! Now come on over, use your new trail in the Kamas Valley, and have fun!!
The new trail is open for all types of non-motorized use, and consists of 3 miles of trails. Enjoy the nice views of the valley from the upper sections of the trail.
NOTE: These trails have just been completed, so please stay off them when the trails are wet. Also, some of the corners are still soft and need packing down so please proceed with caution on the steep corners. On the lower parts of the trail, you may see bits of glass that our awesome volunteers have spent countless hours picking up. But more bits are still surfacing! We will announce another volunteer day soon to try and get some more of the glass bits out of there!
HOW TO GET THERE: The new “Oakley Trail Park” is located directly underneath “The Oakley Trail,” a popular trail among local horseback riders and hikers. From the town of Oakley, take State Road 32 southeast for 1 mile. Then turn east onto Boulderville Road and follow it for 2.2 miles as it curves north and becomes 1000 East. Then the road curves to the east again, becomes Pinion Lane and quickly curves north. A few hundred feet past Oakley Artesian Water, LLC, look for a parking lot on the left side of the road. There is a trail map at the base of the park. (It is at GPS coordinates 40.718729, -111.251862)
